The aim of this project is to explain how the balance between the environmental variances (Ve) and the genetic variance (Vg) swaps during the evolutionof antdivision of labour.
We ideally would like to knockin genes of ants from different colonies then create a new colony where they are all in the same generation. Then a queen ant which is related to none of those ants give birth to offspring. After that we can observe how environmentcan cause division of labour in the worker ants. Then we are to collect data to argue how Ve affect the division of labour, and when Vg starts to make less variance than Ve by overcoming the oroginalgenetic variation made from collecting ants from different colonies.
